Privacy Policy
Last updated: July 23, 2026
This policy explains what Inspo (inspo.fm) collects, how it’s used, and the choices you have.
1. What we collect
- Account & profile: email, name, username, profile photo, bio and booking link (business profiles), and your zip code. We convert zip codes to approximate coordinates to power local matching. For personal accounts, your location is never shown to anyone — it is an internal ranking input only.
- Content you post and actions you take (likes, saves, follows, messages).
- Uploaded-file metadata:when you upload photos or video, we capture the file’s technical metadata — which can include camera details and GPS location — into a locked, restricted store used only for safety, abuse investigation, and legal compliance. Files we serve to other users are re-encoded and carry none of this metadata.
- Usage data:first-party product analytics (screens viewed, features used) tied to your account, retained for 13 months. We honor Global Privacy Control signals for behavioral collection, we don’t store raw IP addresses in analytics events, and we use no third-party advertising trackers.
2. How we use it
To run Inspo: showing you local, bookable work (proximity ranking), delivering messages and notifications, securing accounts (bot detection via Cloudflare Turnstile, rate limiting), sending transactional email (sign-in codes, verifications), and improving the product. We do not sell your personal information.
3. Who processes it
Infrastructure providers process data on our behalf: Supabase (database, storage, authentication), Vercel (hosting), Resend (transactional email), Upstash (rate limiting), Sentry (error monitoring, with personal data scrubbed), and Cloudflare (bot detection). Video processing (Mux) joins when video uploads launch.
4. Visibility choices
Personal profiles can be private (friends-only details). Any profile can ask search engines not to index it (Settings → Visibility). Likes are always visible only to you.
5. Removed content & retention
When content is removed (by you, by us, or via a copyright notice), its pages and links stop being served immediately; direct media addresses stop working within about a minute, previously loaded cached copies of images may persist for up to a few hours, and video playback already in progress may finish. The underlying bytes may be held in a private quarantine — not visible to anyone — to allow recovery from mistakes and copyright counter-notices; they are purged on account deletion or legal requirement. Content flagged by our automated safety scanning may also be held privately while a review completes, and is deleted if the review clears it. Where the law requires preservation (e.g. reports of child sexual abuse material), we preserve as required — currently one year — and report to NCMEC.
6. Deleting your account
Email support@inspo.fm from your account email and we will delete your account: profiles, content, messages (for both sides), notifications, and stored files. Copies may persist in encrypted backups for up to 7 days before rolling off. Released usernames stay reserved for 30 days to prevent impersonation via stale links.
7. Children
Inspo is not for children under 13. We don’t knowingly collect their data; accounts we learn belong to under-13s are removed.
8. Changes & contact
Material changes will be posted here with an updated date. Questions or requests: support@inspo.fm.
